Happy Birthday To Me - Kelly T. Adams

I'm a year older today. Tonight my friends and I will go out to Gauchos for some meat-on-a-stick. I'm also still looking for a job to transition to after April 30th. At least I should be able to put down on a house with my severance. The local job market for my field is pretty soft right now, so I may end up moving if the economy doesn't pick up soon. Such a joy...

Happy Birthday Kelly…We are thinking of you and hope all is well and the meat on a stick is tasty. We went sailing yesterday in a rally and finished first. Sorry to hear that you are losing your job. Any chance you might move further West? I have been playing guitar alot aboard the boat and I am able to run my small 25 watt Peavey amp off of the solar panels.

Dear Kell,

I remember this day 29 years ago quite well! We barely made it to the hospital in the old Corvair van up the hills in Seattle with a little snow and ice on the ground. Before we went to the hospital that night, I spent the day applying red nail polish. I think that was the last time I wore nail polish for several years after you were born. You arrived around 4:30 in the morning and your papa went to have a Dick’s burger later that day. It was just down the street from the hospital. Your Grandpa Don paid the extra charge so I could watch the Super Bowl on the tv in the hospital room. That was in the days when one spent 3 days in the hospital after childbirth. And the Super Bowl wasn’t in Feb.

Thanks for the great comments and birthday wishes! Is a sailing rally different than a regatta? Wow, I can’t believe the super bowl was ever as early as my birthday. This year it’s in February… I wonder what has moved it back so much.
